“We are Unitarian Universalists with open minds, loving hearts and hands that are ready to serve.”

At the Vashon Island Unitarian Fellowship we partner with parents and caregivers in raising children who will become kind, respectful, fair minded, caring and strong enough to stand up for what is right.  Through our religious exploration programs and the inclusion of children in worship, social justice work, and multigenerational gatherings, our congregation reinforces what parents and caregivers teach at home.  We strive to nurture truth seeking, spirituality, and progressive moral values that will continue to shape and support our children as they grow.

Our Kindergarten through 5th Grade children develop their values and beliefs in an environment that fosters discovery through story, art, music, games and sharing.  Over time they will establish a strong identity as a Unitarian Universalist, gain knowledge of the stories and traditions of other world religions, and experience living our faith through social and environmental action.

Every Sunday all children, Kindergarten through 8th grade, begin in the Sanctuary together.  As a community all are welcomed, the chalice is lit, a story is shared, and the children & youth leave the sanctuary through a love arch created down the middle aisle as a hymn is sung.  Visitors are encouraged to walk their children to their classes if it is their first time attending.
