Reflections and Voices on Migration

Human rights activists, Rob Crawford and Merna Ann Hecht, will share their reflections on migration, asylum seekers and closed borders from their recent travels to Europe for further study concerning the migration crisis.  Our community offering/collection will go towards Advocates for Immigrants in Detention Northwest (AID NW), and they have some current needs right now, so if you have any of these items please bring them to the Sunday service (note: they do not need women’s items at this moment) –
New or very slightly used & clean list of items for young men.

  • warm medium and large men’s jackets
  • warm hats, gloves, scarves
  • new men’s backpacks
  • new men’s socks & underwear
  • new men’s sweatshirts and sweatpants
  • travel sized toiletries

In RE this week we will center our activities around the possibility of change.  We are also beginning Mystery Pals next week!  Children and adults will be paired up to exchange notes and small gifts for 3 weeks. Each note or gift will give clues about the mystery pal’s identity.  On February 10, mystery pals will reveal their identities after service and celebrate. If you would like to sign up to be a mystery pal, please see Alexandra Drissell this Sunday!  Contact Maia Chance with questions.
