As part of BCC’s annual retreat, they have invited Rev. Brad Krick to lead them in a class titled “Healing and Peace for Anxious Hearts.” This class will be held this coming Saturday, February 25th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Camp Burton’s Retreat Center. It is free to the community.
We will explore the difference between fear and anxiety, different types of anxiety, and a little neuroscience research in terms of how our brains react to anxiety and how being mindful of how our brains work we can create some pathways to healing. All this will be done in the context of faith. Think Psalm 139 “God makes us wonderfully.” After this initial introduction we will learn about and practice a type of mindfulness called Ignatian Contemplation. Then summary ideas will be provided for how to include this type of mindfulness in a daily spiritual practice.
